By meeting the very stringent "HEPA 13" specification, it is ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers. It only needs to be replaced approximately once a year. This HEPA filter is designed for use in the Miele S4000, S5000, S6000, S8000, Compact C1, C2 and C3 series canister vacuums. It is is a direct replacement for the light blue Miele SF-AH50 HEPA exhaust filter that met the "HEPA 12" specification. Due to the extra space required for the improved HEPA filter media the thin layer of activated charcoal that was in the SF-AH50 has been eliminated. The SF-HA 50 fits in the same place as the Active Air Clean or Super Air Clean Filter.
